Wraps are a versatile and convenient option for meals on the go, such as tiffins, packed lunches, and picnics. This chicken wrap recipe is a simple and easy-to-prepare option that does not require extensive preparation time. The chicken can be pre-mixed with spices and refrigerated ahead of time, then defrosted and cooked with vegetables and cream when ready to assemble the wrap. The incorporation of vegetables adds both flavor and nutrition, making it a hit with both adults and children.

This recipe utilizes fresh boneless chicken; however, leftover chicken tikka, boneless mutton, or various vegetables may also be used. The combination of creamy chicken and slightly crunchy vegetables wrapped in a tortilla provides a delectable and satisfying meal option.

Ingredients

To get started, gather your ingredients. For this recipe, you will need six tortillas or parathas, half a kilogram of boneless chicken, chili powder, salt, turmeric powder, oil, one medium onion, one thinly sliced capsicum, one carrot cut into thin long strips, one sliced and deseeded tomato, chopped parsley, radish, jalapeno, lettuce, and three tablespoons of cheese.

Begin by mixing the chili powder, salt, and turmeric powder together in a bowl. Cut the boneless chicken into small cubes and coat them with the spice mixture. Let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least an hour, or overnight if possible.

When you’re ready to cook, heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until it is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Add the thinly sliced onion, capsicum, and carrot to the pan and cook until the veggies are tender but still slightly crunchy. Pour in the cream and stir until it is well combined. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.

Assembling Wraps

Now it’s time to assemble your wraps! Take a tortilla or paratha and add a spoonful of the chicken and vegetable mixture to the center. Top with sliced tomato, chopped parsley, radish, jalapeno, lettuce, and a sprinkle of cheese. Fold in the sides of the tortilla or paratha and roll it up tightly, securing the end with a toothpick if needed. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas and filling.

These chicken wraps are a fantastic way to incorporate veggies into your diet and are perfect for busy weeknights or on-the-go lunches. Give this recipe a try and watch as it becomes a hit in your family, just like it has in mine!

Masth tips and tricks to make the perfect chicken wrap:

  • Marinate the chicken in the spice mixture for at least an hour, or overnight if possible. This will help to infuse the flavors into the meat and make it more tender and juicy.
  • Use fresh and crunchy vegetables like capsicum, carrots, and lettuce for a refreshing and flavorful crunch in your wrap.
  • Use creamy and tangy condiments like sour cream, mayonnaise, or yogurt sauce to add more depth and creaminess to the filling.
  • Warm up your tortilla or paratha before assembling the wrap. This will make it more pliable and easier to roll up without breaking.
  • Add a layer of cheese to the wrap to hold it together and add a delicious flavor. Cheddar, mozzarella, or feta cheese are all great options.
  • Customize the filling according to your liking. You can add or omit any veggies, spices, or sauces based on your preference.
  • To make it more kid-friendly, you can use a smaller tortilla and cut the wrap into bite-sized pieces for easy snacking.
  • If you’re making the wrap ahead of time, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil and store it in the fridge until ready to eat.
  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat tortillas or parathas, and use olive oil instead of regular oil.

By following these tips and tricks, you’ll be able to make the perfect chicken wrap that is tasty, healthy, and easy to prepare.
