Crispy Homemade Hash Brown Recipe: Easy and Delicious Breakfast Idea

Crispy Homemade Hash Brown Recipe: Easy and Delicious Breakfast Idea

Hash Browns are a classic breakfast dish that has been loved by many for years. They are easy to make, delicious and perfect to start your day on a positive note. In this recipe blog, I will share with you my personal masth tips and tricks to make the crispiest and tastiest hash browns you’ve ever made at home.

Grating the Potatoes

To start off, take two medium-sized potatoes and grate them on the largest holes of a grater. Once done, place the grated potatoes in a colander and remove excess water. Then place the potatoes on a kitchen towel or paper towel, bundle it up and squeeze to remove as much moisture as possible. This helps in getting an even brown crust on the hash browns.

Cooking the Potatoes

Transfer the potatoes to a plate lined with paper towels and cook in the microwave for a minute. Microwaving potatoes works really well. It makes the inside soft and almost creamy but still a bit of chewy. The outside is ridiculously crunchy. It also cuts the cooking time in half.

Seasoning the Hash Browns

Mix in a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of crushed black pepper, two teaspoons of corn flour and one minced garlic clove to the grated potatoes. This gives the hash browns a unique flavour and aroma.

Making the Patties

Now it’s time to make the patties. You can shape the patties into any desired shape. I usually make them round, but you can experiment with different shapes like squares, triangles, or even hearts. You can also stuff mozzarella cheese in between two patties for cheese hash browns. Trust me, the results are amazing.

Frying the Hash Browns

Heat two tablespoons of oil and two tablespoons of butter or ghee in a pan. The butter or ghee adds a great flavour to the hash browns. Once the pan is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan and fry until each side turns golden brown. Slow cooking makes crispy restaurant-style hash browns.

Enjoy Your Delicious Hash Browns

Serve the hash browns hot with a side of your favourite breakfast dishes like scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, or even some fresh fruit. You can even make them ahead of time and freeze. You can cook directly from the freezer, no need to thaw.

Hash Browns are a simple yet delicious breakfast dish that can be made with a few ingredients. With my personal tips and tricks, you can now make the crispiest and tastiest hash browns at home.
