While in Urdu-speaking households of South India, it is sometimes called Gulgule, possibly because of its resemblance to the popular North Indian dish of the same name.

Kuzhi Paniyaram
Ingredients
- 250 ml Idli batter
- 1 Onion Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Curry leaves Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger
- 1 Tablespoon Cumin seeds
- 1 Green Chilli
- Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
Instructions
- In Idli batter combine diced onion and finely chopped curry leaves

- Crush ginger, cumin seeds and green chilly.

- Combine with the batter. Add salt
- Season kuzhi paniyaram pan / gulgulae pan with oil and pour the batter mix.

- Cook for 5 minutes on each side , add butter or ghee before flipping.

- Serve hot with chutney.
